using a palette of sustainable materials.
What tips do you have for people trying to
emulate this style?
Plan a space but be open to finding something
that might work bette r. A llow the space to evolve
by pulling things togethe r an d taking photos to
visualise whether it works for you. Have a vision
and be true to that one vision without letting too
many other ideas infl u ence you .
What’s your favourite part of the home?
I love the central living room and the kitchen
overlo oking the garden cou rtyard. We have really
beautiful n atural light that floods into the garden
all day. I have a passio n for vintage illustration s,
and the mural is one I copied from an art deco

What are your tips for building your own home?
Have a good relatio nship with your builder, an d
en sure they a re comfo rtable abo ut the vision yo u
are trying to achieve an d won ’t presen t you with
too man y variatio ns.

10 The industrial wire light was sourced online from the US for
“next to nothing” and purposefully contrasts with the Victorian
light switches that are over 100 years old.
11 The home allows the owners to surround themselves with
their “treasures”. “It’s lovely to have them around to remind us
of all the things we enjoy doing and all the places we’ve seen,”
