Falling Back to Ear th is global con temporary ar tist Cai Guo -Qian g’s fi rst solo exhibition in Au stralia. It
is made up of three large-sca le i nstallatio ns, two of which were directly in spired by the lan dscapes of
sou theast Quee nslan d. The centrepiece is Heritage, a nd includes 99 life-sized a nimals fro m across the
globe gatheri ng together arou n d a water hole. Head On is a striking display of 99 wolves suspended in time
as they leap throu gh the air, while Eucalyptus featu res the ancient trees of L amington Nation al Park.

True fashio n lovers will have to see the Nation al Galler y of Victoria’s latest ex hibition , showcasing the
glamo ur an d mo dern ity of the ar t deco period thro ugh fashio n’s most infl uen tial photographer, Edwa rd
Steichen. Steichen was the chief photographer for influential magazines Vanity Fair and Vogue, from
1923 u ntil 1938. The ex hibit will featu re over 200 of Steichen’s origina l vi ntage photographs, an d over
30 stu n ni ng art deco fashio n garmen ts a nd accesso ries by leading fashio n ho uses of the day, including
Chanel, L an vin, Madelein e Vion net, Madame Paquin an d C allot Soeu rs.
