Architects Scott Specht and Louise Harpman
share their thoughts on the home.
What is your favourite feature of the home?
The tran sition al spaces bet ween the ho use’s
volu mes are a great feature of the home. Du ring
the day, the kids love u sing the roof decks as their
own private play areas, and when the family is not
u pstairs they tend to con gregate in the kitchen/
What was the inspiration behind the materials
that were selected?
It was impor tan t that the materials con n ected
with an d matched the feel of the site. The warmth
of the timber an d ston e combination within the
home enhances the effect of the lush and vibran t
su rrou n dings in which it is set.
What was the biggest spend on the home?
The windo ws were the most ex pen si ve, simply
because of the material costs associated with
their size (floor to ceiling throughout the bottom
level of the hou se).
