The art scene in Hong Kong and China is having a moment in the sun.
With the recent arrival of contemporary art giant Art Basel into Hong Kong
this year (see p7 3) the city has been o bsessed with all things ar t-fan tastic.
While only the best of the best in international and Chinese art got to feature
at the actual A rt Basel show, w hat it mean t for everyon e else was that the
city came a live with myriad ar t galler y ex hibition s, even ts an d gla m parties
spreading out across tow n. Add to that art hotels popping up across China
(see p74) and n ew ar t mu seu ms seemingly ever y where yo u look (see p76),
an d the artistic futu re has n ever seemed so bright.
