People like Sydney-based interior
stylist Jason Grant spend their
days getting homes looking their
best for magazine photo shoots.
He lets us in on his secrets to
getting a house camera-ready.
Styling a home for a photo shoot
is about presenting them and
‘on their best day’.
Aside from placing some finishing
touches, and a few extra bits and
pieces, much of styling homes for
magazine spreads involves editing
what’s on display and considering
how everything looks for the camera.
The most inspiring homes I’ve
styled have been relaxed and casual,
with a good energy. They weren’t just
filled with designer furniture – they
were filled with heart and soul.
I don’t believe we need to create
‘perfect’ homes. Instead, it’s about
creating a space that says something
about who you are and your style
of living. Homes should be full of
pieces that mean something to you;
your space should reflect your
personality. These tips and tricks
make it easy to ensure that your home
is both stylish and personable.
