furniture fair. Perth’s Salvatore
Fazzari was there on the ground,
gathering the latest trends and
fashions in furniture for 2012
This year, Joquer’s new collections ensured the

Carretero a ll had the perfect balan ce bet ween
creativity, qu ality, disciplin e and timeless elegan ce.
The Daily collection by the ultra trendy Mario Ruiz
was a delicate mix of style an d sophistication w ith
a contemporary twist, and one of my favourite
pieces at the fair. Also the Block collection (left)
by Mermelada Estudio has the ability to stand out
and be fun. Joquer recently became available in

he 51st Milan fair seemed
rejuvenated, as dynamic and
as exciting as ever. The design
gods stamped their mark on
the occasion, with new and wonderful
pieces indicating trends for the coming
year. Meanwhile fresh new faces emerged
amongst the chaos to fight for the coveted
spots as design icons of the future.
This year’s fair was all about warm,
enveloping, rounded, organic forms –
a stark contrast to the lines and sharp
edges seen in previous years.
Colours mirrored those currently
found in fashion, predominantly blues,
greens and mustards, as well as an
introduction of subtle fluoro accents.
On-trend materials included wood and
natural fibres, while I noted an abundance
of stylish upholstery.
