Home' Scoop Homes and Art : Scoop Homes and Art Winter 2012 Contents New
NZ-based journalist Kris Herbert is a self-confessed design j unkie
and lover of NZ’s cutting-edge scene.
Christchurch is a city to watch. Fifteen months after its devastating
6.3-magnitude earthquake, the wrecking ball is still rolling, but there is
hope here that the city will embrace what is a great design opportunity
and create something special. In the meantime, design is cropping up in
the most unusual spaces, oozing out of little nooks and crannies and bubbling
to the surface well before the real rebuild gets underway. We look at a few
of these transitional designs, and also cover some of the latest releases from
a selection of the country’s most exciting designers.
