On the hunt
This vitrine, by Alexandre Hugnet of Paris, reflects the
strong influence of Japanese culture on European design in
the late 19th century. Crafted in the Japonism style, it would
have displayed small and delicate objects such as fans,
lacquers, bronzes and silks. The piece is in immaculate
condition with original glass and velvet lining.
