Add so me o ld-world charm to
you r ho me with this George III
secretaire bookcase. Featuring a
flame mahoga ny ex terior, origina l
glass doo rs an d three large
o ak-lin ed drawers, it’s a stylish
and functional collectable item.
This i ntricately detailed late 1800s pub jug would have been
used as a water jug, sitting on the bar for patrons. In most
cases, such jugs advertised a brand of liquor, however,
this particular piece illustrates a pub scene, capturing the
atmosphere and making it rare for its era. The motto reads:
‘Go fetch me a quart of sack – put a toast in’t.’
Bidjar rugs are
renowned for being
the most desirable of
all Persian carpets.
Why? The combination
of wonderful colours,
and heavy, durable
structure creates a
striking piece. Woven
by Kurdish weavers in
north-west Iran, this
rug was created in the
late 19th century.
