a handful of such stores to take root. You’ll find

the design co mmu n ity (par tly because of
its blatan t tie-in to the n amesake film) is the

Cricket’s pitch One of Miami’s art deco gems, the Sagamore Hotel houses
the Cricket Taplin collection of contemporary art. Owners Cricket and
Marty Taplin began collecting 25 years ago and there are now so many

THE BOYS FROM BRAZIL
The Corallo chair, made of steel wire
coated in e poxy res in, evo kes the
dynamic growth of coral, hence the
nam e. It was d esigned by Brazilian duo
the Campana brothers whose other
kitschy designs include a lounge seat
made of stuffed toys. It’s one of the
unusual pieces at Luminaire Labs,
a store providing a ‘playground’ for
designers to try new ideas – even if
they are napkin doodles come to life.

FEAST YOUR EYES
While the restaurant serves sizzling meat skewe rs with spicy
dipping sauces, the Wynwood Kitchen & Bar is also home to
works that would make any curator d rool. In the dining room,
the walls are decorated with six-metre -high canvases by
Christian Awe and , behind the leather-topped bar, a floor-
to-ceiling collage by graffiti artist Shepard Fairey, an artist so
re now ned that eve n his tabloid-sized works regularly sell for
