Salu Art is a WA textile design company that handcrafts and custom-creates
wall-art panels and a range of soft furnishing products for interior and exterior
spaces. The custom-made outdoor cushions are proving to be particularly popular,
made from a fabric that’s designed to be mould, UV and rub-resistant. Artists and
textile designers Samantha de Souza and Luke Matutinovich are behind
the store, and take their design cue from the
world around them – specifically WA flora.
The bonus? Outdoor lovers can choose
colours, fabrics, sizes and the design.
Cushions from $130. Buy online or
visit them at their studio. Salu

GREEN AND GOLD
A truly Australian garden won gold at this year’s prestigious Chelsea Flower Show
in London. Created by landscape designer Scott Wynd, the Trailfinders Australian
Garden presented by Fleming’s was a lush, water-filled garden created in direct
response to the devastating fires that swept through Melbourne last year and caused
Fleming’s to withdraw its 2009 exhibit. Designed to make the best use of outdoor space,
the garden featured a lap pool and spa, with areas for eating and entertaining. A circular
theme flowed through the garden – from the moon window in the pavilion and laser-cut
shapes in the pergola roof to the circular cut-out in the paving. Jungle-style planting
made the garden lu sh an d inviting. Visit www.tlclandscapes.com.au.
