Title The Firefighter was Assigned His
First Job -- He Decided to Let the Church
Artist George Egerton-Warburton
is one of nine cutting-edge West
Australian artists to contribute to Rounds,
an exhibition of works that radically
engage with issues of peer influence.
The other artists featured are Neil
Aldum, Rebecca Baumann, Tim Carter,
Elise/Jurgen, Shannon Lyons, Bennet
Miller and Sarah Rowbottam.

Her work builds on familiar, everyday
events, creating amusing, and sometimes
unsettling, commentary about our world.
The Artwork Judith's sketchbooks are a
personal record of the objects and people
around her. In this exhibition, she moves
out from the A6 sketchbook format to
larger A3 works, which are mostly rendered
in crayon and watercolour. These drawings
take a tongue-in-cheek look at public art,
botanical drawings and book illustration.
Accompanying these drawings are small
coloured gypsum/resin sculptures and
the studious visitor will find many of these
characters reappear in the drawings.

The Artwork Working through a series
of four cycles, each artist responds to a
work made in the previous cycle by another
artist in the group. The fruits of this
ambitious and transparent creative process
will be brought together and curated in a
dynamic installation throughout PICA's
central galleries, which will display the 32
artworks created in each cycle.

current series, Love Conversations: Diary
to a Godchild, continues her journey of
expressing her feelings through paintings
and soft sculptures to loved ones.
The Artwork Penny's tiny christening
gowns are symbols of new life, unmarked
and innocent of experience. Such gowns
are passed down through generations,
