Home' Scoop Homes and Art : Insite 25 Winter 2010 Contents INSITE WINTER 27
IT'S ONLY NATURAL
This season it's all about introducing raw
materials and natural tones into the home.
New to the homewares market, these
handcrafted rugs by Armadillo & Co are
perfect for winter and the environment.
We love that the rugs are one of a kind,
plus made from natural wool, jute, cot ton
and hemp. Earthy dyes are used for the
charcoal and ash tones to ensure the rugs
are one with Mother Nature, while the
texture in a variety of di erent weaves --
including the nest weave, willow weave,
pebble weave, honeycomb weave and
rope weave -- are reminiscent of those
from the outdoors. Armadillo & Co

WHAT A BELLE
When Italian lighting company Axo Light had a 'light bulb' moment, no-one knew how
big that idea would become. Enter the Bell Lamp. This pendant is so enormous (180cm
wide) that it comes with a space caution (maybe not, but it should!). Selected as the global
winner of the 8th Annual Elle Deco International Design Awards in the lighting category,
the lamp is in a league of its own. The oversized bell is a metal structure covered in ribbons
of smooth, fireproof sponge fabric and is perfect for large open spaces (atriums, foyers,
warehouses). It's certainly a pendant that's guaranteed to have an impact on any room.
Available in 10 colours. Alti Lighting (08) 9284 2203, alti.com.au.
The Bell Lamp is big on size and
designer impact. Prices start at $1329.
