10. UNITED GALLERIES PERTH
Title: Pastoral Domestic- TV Dinner 3
Artist: Tim Storrier was the youngest
ever recipient of the Sulman Prize in 1968,
when he was just 19. He was awarded the
prize again in 1984. Tim lives and works in
Bathurst, NSW. He is represented in the
Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York,
the National Gallery of Australia, all state
and many regional gallery collections. He
was appointed Trustee of the Ar t Gallery
of NSW in 1989, and was awarded the
Order of Australia (AM) in 1994 for his
services to art.
The Artwork: Tim Storrier is interested in
the decay of material culture and fire
represents the source of both devastation
and renewal. There is a tension in his
work between beauty and decay: his
evocative use of texture and colour in
the atmospheric e ec ts at daybreak and
dusk, are counterbalanced by destructive
or gruesome elements like fire, snakes
a nd slabs of meat.

11. LYNDENDALE GALLERY
Title: After the Fire 1
Artist: Denise Gillies is a printmaker in
the Ferguson Valley region, where she
owns and runs Lyndendale Gallery. Denise
exhibits regularly at Bunbury Regional
Art Gallery as part of the South West
Printmakers' annual exhibition. She also
exhibits with the Printmakers' Association
of Western Australia.
The Artwork: Denise works extensively
using collograph techniques and has more
recently introduced hand-coloured chine
colle papers to her work. After the Fire 1
is one of several in a series inspired by the
recent devastating bushfires throughout
Australia. The use of textured panels
captures di erent aspects of the impact of
the fires on the landscape. Dark silhouettes
in the foreground serve to unify the piece.
As with Denise's other collographs, the
final interpretation of this image rests with

Title: Autumn Landscape -- Tuscany
Artist: Jules Sher is a senior artist and
long-term exhibitor with Gunyulgup
Galleries. His work is represented in many
private, public and corporate collections.
