GALLERY ON THE MOVE
Greenhill Galleries, established in 1972, has moved from Dalkeith. The new gallery
space is larger and easily accessible, in the heart of Claremont at 6 Gugeri Street.
INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL HITS PERTH
The Perth International Arts Festival brings an exciting wave of art to sweep through
our city between February 5 and March 10. Margaret Moore, manager of the event's
visual arts line-up, recommends Cecile Williams' solo show, Contained, at Central TAFE
Art Gallery from February 6 to March 6. Cecile has constructed what she describes as
"miniature worlds" from objects and stories collected from residents of Australia's most
remote and isolated territory -- Christmas Island.
AWARD WINNING COLLABORATION
Congratulations go to a team of Perth teenagers, Midland Gate Shopping Centre and
the City of Swan, winners of the inaugural AbaF Young and Emerging Artists Award. The
collaborators were awarded for bringing about the first large-scale youth music and visual arts
event ever hosted in a commercial shopping precinct in Australia: the 2008 Hyper Festival.
Attended by over 3500, the Festival was recognised by the Australia Council for the Arts for
helping to build skills, experiences and opportunities for young and emerging artists.
