Piece: 18ct yellow gold watch key
This magnificent piece is a classic example of late Georgian/early Victorian jewellery,
known for its floral motifs and handmade craftsmanship. It almost certainly originated
in France and is irreplaceable today. Double-sided and heavily embossed, the watch key
has sides which fold out, enabling it to stand alone as an ornament when not being worn.
Fine detail on the back and front depict dried flower arrangements, interspersed with
tiny, natural pearls and hand-woven gold wire. It clips onto a gold handmade chain, which
completes this striking piece.
