AROUND SYDNEY IN DAYS
Here's something new and fresh for those who want to
discover Sydney but have limited time. Photographer
Louise Hawson has lived in Sydney for more than 30
years and is obsessed with photography. Each week, she
visits a di erent suburb, transforming a postcode into a
beautiful gallery of pictures which she then posts on her
website 52suburbs.com, and blogs about each suburb's
history, food and meanings of Aboriginal place names.
Louise's photographic odyssey was inspired by a
feeling she didn't really know her birthplace despite living
there. Her photographic tour of its suburbs is a bit like
being on holiday without leaving home. She is happiest
taking photos discovering the unknown, and even
travelled across the US with a video camera.
Louise is particularly attracted to the culturally
intriguing and diverse architecture which Sydney seems
to be blessed with.
